A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in several Linksys router models including RE6250, RE6300, RE6350, RE6500, RE7000, and RE9000. This security issue arises from improper handling of the DMZIPAddress parameter in the setDMZ function located in the /goform/setDMZ file. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability remotely, posing significant risks if left unaddressed. Despite being alerted about the issue, the vendor has not publicly responded to the disclosure. Users of the affected models are urged to review their security posture and apply necessary mitigations.
